Fiji’s earnings from tourism for the June quarter of 2015 is provisionally estimated at $377.8 million,  an increase of $41.2 million or 12.2 per cent increase compared to the same period last year.

Australian visitors contributed $201.3 million or 53.3 per cent of the earnings from tourism with $60.4 million or 16.0 per cent attributed to New Zealand visitors.

The changes in earnings recorded by country were as follows:

  • Australia increased by $21.2 million (11.8%) from $180.1 million to $201.3 million;
  • New Zealand increased by $6.1 million (11.2%) from $54.3 million to $60.4 million;
  • United States of America increased by $3.0 million (10.9%) from $27.5 million to $30.5 million
  • Continental Europe increased by $1.5 million (9.6%) from $15.7 million to $17.2 million.
