The group will be arriving on Tuesday, July 19th.

Nadi-based  Tour Managers  Managing Director Damend Gounder said he was optimistic that the visit would be a big boost for Fiji tourism as the media personnel would have a huge following in China which is one of the many key emerging markets for the country.

GOUNDER: “Chinese tourists are very adventurous travellers and big spenders at the same time and we at Tour Managers are working tirelessly to tap into this huge market. The media personnel who will be on a ten-day familiarization trip around the country will have a lot of good stories to tell their huge base of followers in China and across the globe.”

Mr Gounder confirmed the group consists of personnel from diverse travel media outlets with their unique strengths and followers across China and beyond.

GOUNDER:  “One such widely followed media personnel we are hosting in this trip is Li Ye, photographer, column writer and occupation traveller of National Geographic China. As China’s largest geographical and cultural tourism magazine, National Geographic China has also diversified into new mediums such as mobile media, electronic magazines and new media in the form of fusion by creating China’s professional geography encyclopaedia based knowledge database.”

He added that another attraction of this visit would be the launching of the fourth edition of  “Fiji Travel Guide”  which is written in Chinese and authored by award-winning travel writer Liu Yang, who is also the representative of Global Travel Media.

GOUNDER: “Since 2012, Mr Yang has been working tirelessly to promote Fiji in China and we will be launching the fourth edition of the special travel guide compiled by him on Monday, July 25 in Nadi. Having produced thousands of travel videos and TV programmes, Mr Yang has also written extensive travel guides in the Chinese language winning praise from tourism industries across the globe.”

“In 2012, Mr Yang’s experience with Fiji was extensively broadcast on CCTV 2 Financial Channel which rates among the best in China so the mileage received from this familiarization trip through his company Global Travel Media (GTM) will be very influential in marketing Fiji to the growing Chinese market.”

Meanwhile, the core focus of GTM (Global Travel Media) is to produce original tourism TV programmes, publishing original travel guide books, the independent development of the IPhone App applications and WeChat service account integration.
