The restaurant has 60 employees and will open to the general public on Monday. It is located opposite the Suva post office.
Burger King has two outlets at Nadi airport and one in Martintar in Nadi. The fifth outlet in Nakasi, which will have a drive-through service, is currently under construction and will open in April next year.
At the opening today, director Tejash Patel said his company had already invested $18 million into the franchise.
“We have invested $2 million in our Suva restaurant and the new Nakasi futuristic outlet will see a further investment of $3 million which will take our total investment in Suva up to $5 million in the next six months,” said Patel.
“In total, we have so far invested close to $18 million in the franchise taking into account the freezer and cooler storage facility which is nearing completion at the new Motibhai Business Park in Nadi.”
The Suva restaurant will also sell draft beer.
“We are very fortunate to partner with Paradise Beverages on this service ‐ they have been an excellent business partner and we look forward to offering the point of difference,” said Patel.
