In a statement, Digicel Fiji CEO Mr Darren McLean said the rescan was a must in order to transition from Fiji TV equipment and facilitate the new content which has seen improved picture and audio quality and for customers to be able to receive new channels and improve overall picture quality.

Sky Pacific is now at the end of the migration, all customers will need to perform a final three-step rescan with their remote controls on June 29th to be able to receive the Discovery channel shortly thereafter and align the 25 channel ID’s.

McLEAN: “We have started to communicate to all our customers the need to rescan set top boxes for the second time this month through a number of campaigns including press and radio advertisements, online, personal SMS and calls, and Digicel Facebook page. A step-by-step rescan process has been clearly communicated to customers.”

Mr McLean said all customers must perform the rescan to receive Discovery channel and align all other channel ID’s.

McLEAN: “Our customer call centre has been manned at full capacity, and are ready to handle inquiries and assistance. We know this may be an inconvenience to some, nevertheless in order to receive the new channel and to align ID’s, a rescan is necessary.”
