Suva Private Hospital now known as MIOT Pacific
Chennai-based investor MIOT International has acquired a 30% stake and will now manage the private hospital.
Fiji’s largest private hospital, Suva Private Hospital, will be rebranded as MIOT Pacific Hospital since changing ownership on January 1st this year.
Suva Private Hospital Limited was wholly owned by BSP Life and will now be owned by Oceana Hospital Pte Limited. Oceania Hospitals is a joint venture between BSP Life (70%) and MIOT International (30%).
MIOT will manage the rebranded hospital under a management contract. MIOT will bring their key personnel and clinicians to “manage and compliment the local team”.
BSP Life managing director, Mr Malakai Naiyaga said the value of Oceania Hospitals was $14million, which included $7 million earmarked for new equipment and facilities.
In a statement, MIOT Pacific stated that they would bring specialist skills to complement Fiji’s healthcare industry.
MIOT: “All staff of Suva Private Hospital have been engaged in the new entity without loss of any employment. MIOT will be further complementing the current resources with additional human and technical resources.”
Attorney General Hon Aiyaz Saiyed Khaiyum will officiate at the launch of MIOT Pacific on 18th January.
