ANZ Fiji had a 15% increase in its online banking transactions in the month of June compared to May this year.
ANZ Acting CEO Mr. Saud Minam said the increase was a result of the free access to ANZ Fiji website of Vodafone network.
The bank had declared June as the ‘month of digitisation’ to create awareness on its digital products and services.
Meanwhile, ANZ today announced its support as Gold Sponsor of the 2016 Alliance for Financial Inclusion Global Policy Forum being held in Nadi, Fiji from 7-9 September this year under the theme ‘Building the Pillars of Sustainable Inclusion’.
MINAM: “Building financial literacy remains our priority here in Fiji, and indeed across the Pacific. We strongly believe that this is an important means of building economic resilience in the communities in which we operate.”
The bank also reaffirmed its commitment to financial inclusion in Fiji through the free delivery of its flagship financial literacy program ‘MoneyMinded’ and ‘MoneyMinded Business Basics for SMEs’ to communities and partner organisations across Fiji.
MoneyMinded is a comprehensive suite of adult financial education programs that aims to improve financial skills, knowledge, and confidence.
ANZ has delivered MoneyMinded to over 5000 people in Fiji since its launch in 2010.
MINAM: “There’s no one solution to building financial literacy in any market and ANZ takes an holistic approach here in Fiji, which we believe is the only way to shift the dial.”
30 ANZ staff are currently accredited to deliver MoneyMinded in Fiji and ANZ continues to invest in growing the program.
ANZ has announced free access to its internet banking platform and website for Vodafone Fiji users.
This means that Vodafone Fiji users will not incur any data costs when accessing ANZ internet banking at www.anz.com/fiji.
Making the announcement at ANZ’s flagship Suva branch today, ANZ acting CEO Fiji Mr. Saud Minam said the aim of the initiative was to make online banking more convenient and affordable for ANZ and Vodafone customers.
MINAM: “This partnership aligns perfectly with our strategy to help customers access fast, convenient and secure online banking services from the comfort of their homes or anywhere in Fiji from their handheld mobile devices and tablets.”
Chief Commercial Officer at Vodafone Fiji Limited Mr. Ronald Prasad said ANZ-Vodafone bank customers can now do their online banking for free.
PRASAD: “Now ANZ-Vodafone customers can now do their online banking for free, even without no data or real money on their phone. They can now access their page for free.
Mr. Minam also highlighted the need for customers to remain diligent in keeping their internet banking details secure as incidents of money transfer scams and other such online fraudulent activities appear to be on the rise.
MINAM: ” I would urge customers to regularly change their internet banking passwords and card PINs, starting today, and always protect access to your computer and mobile devices.”
